What's the difference between a transfer maid and a new maid?
A transfer maid is already working in Singapore and can usually start within weeks. You can interview her in person and she has prior local household experience. A new maid is hired from overseas and goes through medical, training, and orientation before starting. Transfer maids cost less upfront but tend to command higher salaries; new maids cost more upfront but typically accept lower starting salaries.
